hi! I bought a skybus ticket to Newburgh on a Sunday, not realizing that the leprechaun bus service to NYC doesn't work on weekends. What other ways do I have of getting to the city?

Greyhound goes to Queens, but it leaves half an hour before my flight arrives. I'm kind of stunned by how poorly coordinated everything is, when they're supposedly trying to make Newburgh a new airport for New York.

thanks for any suggestions!

I avoid flying to anywhere but JFK or LGA because the ground transportation from the other airports simply sucks. The best answer I can think of for you would be to get a taxi to Beacon, NY and take the Metro North into Grand Central Station. I have no idea what the taxi would cost, though.

hey, thanks for the advice! it worked out really well. the taxi is $11, $18 if you want a minivan taxi. There's also a shuttle service at the airport, for $13 a person to the train station. The Metronorth ticket is $11.50 or so. I met several other people who needed a taxi to Beacon as well, so in all (the skybus ticket was $30 after taxes) that turned out to be cheap, albeit more time-consuming than flying into LGA or JFK.
