Hey! I'm going to be in Banff next week for two days. We'll have no car, so we're looking for something to do in or around the city.

Are there any tours or anything that can get us up to Lake Louise?

Any help would be appreciated Wink

Once you are at Banff, you will have no trouble getting a rideshare with people there - the Global Backpackers hostel is a good rideshare location.

Also, Banff is a bit like disney land, and another local town called Canmore is probably a better location if you dont want to spend a lot of cash needlessly.

We already have reservations at the Y in Banff. A twin room for $63. Couldn't really go wrong Smile

I think we may end up rending a car for the day and then checking out Lake Loiuse and Canmore.

I'm in the Maritimes as well!

Ditto on the Canmore recommendation. I'm definitely retiring there someday. Even if you're staying in Banff, if you want to see a true Rocky mountain town with some culture and personality, Canmore's the place to go (although the the party scene is better in Banff Abzv ).

If you're looking for a great dayhike in Banff, cut across the Banff Springs Golf Course and climb Mt Rundle - it's not a very technical climb and the view is spectacular! Cool

Is there a bus, by chance, that runs between Canmore, Banff and (maybe) Lake Louise?

That would be cheaper than renting a car.

Hmm..

I was hoping for more of a day trip type of bus. Or a regular bus service between the three.

I'll check into Greyhound though!
