I’m looking for several good places to take 1-2 week pleasure/study vacations in the future. You can only tell so much from reading reviews online.

At the moment the whole home-stay scene doesn’t appeal to me very much. Instead, I think I would be interested in a private room in a student residence or shared flat – shared with single locals or with students. I would like to be independent. However, it is also important to me to meet people and practice conversing in Spanish. I want to enjoy myself while learning.

A quality school that offers one-on-one lessons would be ideal. I also want to live and study in an interesting area where there is some nightlife. The following are some of the places I am considering. Any input on these or other places that meet my guidelines would be appreciated. Also, are there any other forums where I might post this?
