i know as a student traveller, switzerland would be nowhere near the top of the list of places to visit soon. but, my friend asked me to come with her so now i'm tempted as hell! i'm trying to figure out costs and everything.. so has anyone been? or what does everyone recommend to reduce cost (besides not going)?

All I have heard is now that place just sucks your bank acount dry and most student hostelers avoid it like the plague... pitty though, I heard it was beautiful.

It is beautiful, but honestly, there are so many places to go in Europe if you need to do it on the cheap. I camped and I still spent a lot of money!!!!

Those lobsters you had delievered to your tent didn't help matters.

fly with her, spend the day, then get out on a train and stay in italy or somewhere else while she is there. then meet up with her again on the last day. You get a trip to Europe, you get to see switzerland with your friend, you get to have something left in your bank account.

guess what, she's not going anymore.

near freezing temperatures didn't seem that appealing to her, darn!

ah well, i get to save some money then.
