I'm finishing my degree in the summer and plan to work out in Vancouver for 4 months. Any one else doing the same or has some advice?
Thanks

I'm also finishing my degree this year (hopefully!) and I've got a place on the Work Canada thing so I'm off to Vancouver too. Do you know when most people go?

I'm not sure. I'm going at the end of July as i want to save some money first. I would have thought people who have finished their degrees might do the same and probably earlier. Just out of curiosity which uni are you at?

I'm at Huddersfield. How about you? I don't think I'm going to be going til later on in the year cos I want to be around for my graduation. I also really need to earn some money over the summer or I won't be going anywhere! Have you come across anyone else on here that's heading to Vancouver? I've seen a few people that are going elsewhere in Canada.

I'm at Staffordshire. How later on in the year are you going? Seen a few people going and loads have said it is a beautiful city. What type of job are you going to get when you get out there?

I'm still trying to decide when to go but I want to get my flights booked soon. It probably won't be til october or november though. Not sure what job I want either. I'd like to work in one of the mountain resorts over the winter if possible. Have you got any idea what you want to do or how long you're going for? I really can't wait now!

Not 100% sure yet. Probably go for about 4 - 5 months. Havnt got a clue what job, maybe bar work or something like that. Just want to get away from UK and my subject that i did at uni. Basically chill out and see some of Canada and America. Are you going by yourself? I'm going with two of my mates.

I'm thinking I might go for 6 months then I can extend it if I want. It's hard to decide now cos it's still a while off for me. I was originally intending to go on my own but 2 of my mates are coming too now which I'm quite pleased about. Less chance of me getting on the wrong plane or something! Have you got everything booked and paid for yet?

Just sent off the membershiop and all that. The other two are a bit more organised and got it all done. So hopefully it hasnt filled up and i cant get on it. Not sure whether to get the flights with them or not. Get them cheaper without them but suppose you get to meet people on the program if you go with them. What you thinking of doing?

I'm going to go on one of the bunac flights. We did consider sorting it out ourselves but decided it'd be easier to travel with other people going to the same place at the other end. I need to wait for my next loan cheque before I can book it though!
I'm sure you'll get a place. The meetings are still going on at unis to try and persuade people to do it so there must be places left. Did you go to one of those?

Vancouver is a nice choice - if I were heading to Canada in the summer I'd either choose the west coast (no further east than Calgary) or the east (no further west than Montreal). Have fun!

The big parks are also popular - Jasper and Banff. Whistler attracts people year round. All three are big party towns, though.

I plan to see other parts of Canada like Whistler etc. Where is Jasper and Banff? I would also like to go to Seatle.

The presentation was on when we had bad snow, so the bloke who was doing the talk couldnt get to our uni. But there is a Work America Pres tomorrow, so i might go to that and explain that i want to do Canada. Did you go to on?

Banff and Jasper are in Alberta. I'm considering going to one of them, Lake Louise or Whistler over the winter if I can. I'll see how it goes though.

Tried to get to the Manchester meeting but got stuck in a traffic jam on the M62 (always fun!)and missed it. My mate went to the one at his uni and said they didn't actually tell them anything we didn't already know. It says somewhere that we should go to one though. Is there a reason for that other than for information?

I dunno. I didnt go to that one today cos everyone (including yourself) said there was no new infomation compared to the brochure. I've applied now so just have to wait and see.

Well good luck! I'm sure you'll get a place though. They got back to me really quickly so you should find out soon enough. An acceptance letter and a complimentary bunac pack of cards should be winging its way though your letter box soon!
