What's up all --

So my wife and I are currently living in Denver and both have aspirations to travel more and get an MBA.

We've been going back and forth and have made the decision to look at MBA opportunities abroad to achieve our goals all folded into a one-year trip/program.

We both have 4-year business degrees from reputable schools and have been looking around at accredited and affordable programs. Is anyone considering doing something similar and/or has anyone completed a one-year MBA program abroad?

Currently, although expensive, we're looking at two different programs in Barcelona and another less expensive program in Cyprus.

If we decide to go through with this, it will be in September or October of next year.

Any thoughts, recommendations, information, would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Talk to everyone soon -- David

Good things and bad things can be said about rankings - but here's the latest business school ranking from Financial Timeshttp://rankings.ft.com/rankings/mba/rankings.html.

I've heard very good things from former INSEAD (France) and IMD (Switzerland)- students.

Good luck with your studies!

Anne-Sophie -- Thanks for the info. I'll check out the list and will check into the schools that you recommended.

Zopa -- Not sure of the exact school but yes, it was an English speaking program.

I'll keep you guys posted with progress...

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks -- D

Cyprus: very over-priced vacation spot for Europeans and Israelis that I've heard is rather boring. Big military zone down the middle. And then that other Turkish side that the tourists never go to.
I know people who go all kinds of places in Europe and Turkey, but nobody ever seemed to actually be INTERESTED in Cyprus. Maybe there's a reason for that?

well, an unfortunate series of events found me living in cyprus for a time back in 1997.

so here's the deal:

its true, there were no responsible planners stepping forward to curb the development so it became over-developed and def. caters to a crowd that, is on their once-in-a-lifetime splurge to 'paradise' and its tacky.

nicosia is beautiful but has a tragic feel to it. the whole country was tragic to me. divided by a U.N.-manned peacekeeping line (oldest on earth) and those on either side of it hate one another. the first few blocks from the green zone are just emptied...800 yr old apartments/houses/buldings/now decaying.

cyprus college may be intersting b/c it is VERY international. people come from all over the world to study there. that part would be cool.

historic sites
lots of 'em from classical times

climate
gets chilly there

thats all i want to say on this topoic for now. good luck!

Since you have already graduated with a degree, have you considered working overseas, rather then going to school again just to travel there? Im taking International Trade, and hope to be working over there in 2 years when Im done. Just a thought!
