just wondering if all you student travelers have taken advantage of your student status and used it to cheapen your travels? if so please tell and in what way! i bought my plane ticket through studentuniverse.com and it seems like it was cheaper than most other sites!

I still use my student card, and I'm barely a student anymore. Anyhow, I've found the ISIC card worthwhile in South America. It paid for itself (about $22US here) more than enough.
I've been able to get pretty cheap airfare through STA travel whenever there are specials.
I used my ISIC for two whole years after it was supposed to expire. For little things, like movie tickets, etc. in the US. It was worth it abroad, too, when it was still valid, as it got me discounts from the bus in Melbourne to a plane ticket to London. Don't know about Korea, though. Never had an ISIC when I was in Asia.

The ISIC looks the same, no matter when it expires. People don't look at it all that closely, either. I also have a card that blatantly says "Dalhousie University" on it, and I'll probably get some sort of Yonsei University ID... which is why I think it wouldn't be worth it.
