I know somewhere around here people were talking about going abroad for four years. I just applied to Saint Louis University, Madrid, they're a fully recognized school, the only one in Spain to be recognized by both the American and Spanish boards of higher education. All the classes are in English, but just like any other school they're Spanish program is top notch.
Another good website to find schools is College Abroad.com. Just thought I'd pass on the info.

Thank you for the link Taylor! This just opens so many new doors, wherever am I going to go?? I browsed CollegeAbroad.com and came upon the Free University of Berlin and was truly blown away. Why can't the darned US catch on? It's just a shame I don't speak Deutsch. My roommate is getting the Pimsleur course this Friday so I should definitely borrow it! At least for fun anyway.

I don't like to say "lol" but I've never seen anything more deserving.

I also applied to St Louis university in madrid and I am going this fall. Some of the courses are taught in Spanish as well, not only language ones either. Two years there and two years somewhere here. Very excited indeed.

pichilemu, that's great! Just a few quick questions: how's your spanish? The more I think about it, the more I worry that because my spanish is almost non-existant, so it'll be hella tough for the first semester or so. Oh well, it'll be a challenge Smile.
What kind of student where you in highschool? I haven't got any word back on acceptance so I'm biting my nails hoping I get in. I had a B+ average and a 1300 on my SATs so I think I should be good to go, but that spanish language thing might be a problem, haha.

What do you guys know about the American Universities abroad? I checked out that site Taylor posted and I found the American University in Cairo appealing. I looked at their homepage as well. Ideally, I'd like to go to college in the Middle East (I've wanted to learn Arabic for ages, and the culture fascinates me). My instinct is that I'd rather go to an Egyptian university in Egypt (or replace Egypt with any other country) rather than an American one, but since I know zero Arabic, I'm thinking the American ones might be a more viable option. Thoughts?

I googled around for stuff on the American University at Cairo and the school seems to be well recognized and has a good deal of history as a school abroad. I think the university's website has a good deal of information, and if you don't mind forking out $15 bucks you might be able to get some info out of this US News and World Report review of the school.

I'm not sure the school has any affiliation with any other American Universities though. The one in Cairo and others, such as the American University in Paris or the American University in Bulgaria, seem to be mostly stand alone universities.

On a side note, AUB has is having a 50% tuition reduction for the 05/06 school year, if your interested Smile.
