I will be leaving the military in two years and wish to utilize the GI Bill to study in various countries. I biggest issue is that I need to be able to live and study for no more than 15,000 a year (hopefully less as I would like to save a bit here and there). I do not need much in the way of creature comforts, so living expenses will be at a minimum.
I was hoping to start in Peru and Ecuador, studying for half a year in each. I could change the country as well, depending on cost. What I study is not terribly important, though I would like to pick up some Spanish. Nor do I much care if the credits are transferable as I will already have a degree and a TEFL certificate. The goal is more to see these countries and to explore the rest of South America while I do it, while simultaneously not dipping into my savings and hopefully adding to them a bit along the way. I do not wish to go through a program offered by a college in the US as they are rather ridiculously expensive (for me), but would prefer to cut out the middle man and enroll directly with the university. Does anyone know of a college such as this in either of these countries (or another country in South America)? I also hope to do this in the Middle East the following year (hopefully in Egypt and Tunisia). Any help would be much appreciated. |
