Holds PhD in Packing |
Hey - I've posted a couple of times about Urban Lowdown - but now that there is a dedicated student travel forum, this is the ideal place...
Urban Lowdown is a travel guidebook written exclusively by students on accredited study abroad programs. It was begun in partnership with UCLA while I was a student there, and has expanded to include students from NYU, UC Irvine, UCLA, Michigan state and others. The idea is simple - study abroad students get to know their host cities / countries much better than your typical gudiebook writer who has a few weeks to compile their info. Urban Lowdown correspondents write about a whole range of issues that are relevant to other travelers, student or otherwise, but with an insight and experience that you can't have unless you live there. We are always looking for interested students to work as correspondents - there is no pay (I haven't been paid yet in 2 + years) but Urban Lowdown gets a lot of attention, and we try our utmost to help writers of exceptional abilities. If you are interested, please check out the site - Urban Lowdown or email me and I can give you more information. Thanks. |

Hey Travel girl -
it depends really - we want students who will be at least one quarter abroad - any less and it's 'passing through' more or less, which is (in our theory, at least) what most guidebooks are all about. |
