Heya folks! This is Seán from www.irlelandlogue.com . I thought I'd ask the forum what ye all would be interested in hearing about in relation to Paddy's day in Ireland.

Which Irish location should I go to for Paddy's?

Athlone (where I am) has a respectable parade and all, we have a boat rally on the Shannon, loads of music and the bagpiping regiment does their thing (Athlone has the oldest military barracks in Europe), but seeing as how so many people talk about visiting Ireland for Paddy's, I thought I'd put it out there to see if there was someplace in Ireland that people were really curious to hear about.

Anyone have a fabulous Irish Paddy's day experience somewhere? Wish they had gone elsewhere instead? What would you like to hear about?

go raibh maith,

seán

Hoo boy. Limerick is a bigger city, there will be more going on. Like all cities, some neighbourhoods are to be avoided, but there will be a lot more happening than Shannon. I'd say that if you'd like madness, go for Limerick. Something quieter - opt for Shannon.

well limerick it is. one more thing, is there a lot goin on around that area on the 16th? my friend and i dont have a hotel for that night so we figured we would either stay up the whole and party(if there is anyone to party with) or camp out. are either of these viable options? i know we probably should have planned ahead a little better. thanks for the info
