Hi,

What is a realistic budget for Ireland (excluding airfare). I am currently in Mexico and found that I am spending more than I thought. I tend to stay in hostels (though not always the cheapest hostel) and here cheap hotels when necessary. I am a frugal backpacker but not always barebones (ie i sometimes spend too much on food). Also I am travelling solo which can drive up expenses. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks

I did it on 30 Euro/day. I just stayed in Dublin, walked everywhere, visited free sights when possible, self-catered and was traveling with two other people. I think that if you double that you would be able to get by from you description of habits.

on 30 euro a day you will be severely limited in what you can do. Your hostel is going to cost half that, if you plan to jump on a bus to cork or galway expect to fork out another 20 quid. You'll have to eat out of the supermarket, not drink in the pubs (shock horror!!), if I was you I would half the time and double your budget to give yourself abit of scope to enjoy yourself and interact more
a month would be loads of time to see this country

When I wen't to Dublin for 2 weeks it cost me about 60 euro a day, I didn't feel very limited on that budget so you should be able to do everything you need to do on it.

Less, like previously mentioned is very possible however it will limit what you can do.

If you like your food, make sure you self cater Smile

I also agree with Phill, one month, more money, you'll have a great time.
