Basically anywhere in Ireland would be a great place to go. I would recommend Galway, Doolin, Dingle as the best towns. The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher are great sights. (along with the Aran Islands and Connemara) Most especially I would suggest not staying in only Dublin. Get out and see the countryside. It is a very beautiful country!

I''ll second that! Doolin is a great little village with the Burren, the cliffs and the Aran islands all within a short distance, great little pubs too and the road up to Gallway is Irelands equivalent of the Great ocean road.
Kerry is well worth spending some time at too and it has one Ireland most amazing sites, Skelligs island, its a rocky outcrop about an hours boat trip off of the Kerry coast with age old monastry perched on top, i can't find the words to do this place justice, you just have to see it for yourself, its one of those one in a kind places you won't find anywhere else in the world! strangely enough i haven't seen it been talked about on this forum. A must see for sure!! |

^^^ Wow that was a great reply! I only wish that I had met you on Bootsnall before going to Ireland!! I had the best time ever there, but with all you've suggested I could have probably stayed a year!

hey, you must come back so
Its just coming up to my favourite time of the year - the weather here has been really nice for the last week - people are walking around the city with big smiles on their faces mainly because its the first time we've seen proper sun in 8 months or so. Weekends from now on will consist of leaving work early on a friday afternoon and head straight into the cricket pavillion in trinity college and hang out with all the other people that congregate there. You can get a couple of thousand people sitting in the sun, shooting the breeze and having a few cold beers (Its like a really laid back festival vibe)- classic way to start the weekend. Saturday there is invariably a bbq/party on somewhere then sunday its off somewhere around the country to catch a game of football or even better hurling!! You nearly need a couple of days in work just to recharge the batteries. |

Ireland is gorgeous. I went in April of last year, here's my itinerary.
Dublin > Galway > Aran Island (must)> Galway > Burren > Cliffs of Moher (must) > Bunratty > Cahir Castle > Cashel Rock > Kilkenny > Dublin > Belfast A lot of people don't like Belfast, but I didn't mind it but if you don't have the time or inclination, don't bother. |
