I'm leaving next Tuesday for 10 days in Ireland with my sister and my daughter. We're flying in to Shannon and staying on the southwest coast. my daughter's heading on to Spain two days before we're heading home and she's dropping the car off at the airpot. any ideas/suggestions on where we could stay those last two nights to have easy access to the Shannon airport for a early afternoon flight? We want to be somewhere where we can enjoy ourselves, but have easy travel to the airport.

limerick city is the closest and probably most convenient. But as cities go this one sucks!!

Get yourself up to Galway for one of the nights or up to doolin or doonbeg or lisdoonvarna - anywhere but limerick...
I'm sure you could find transport from any of those places for the morning of your departure.

you can use either cork or galway as an alternative focal point. Galway is my own preference.
