Richies in Kilkee, Co Clare The Small Drum in Dingle, I forget it's Gaelic name. However, the best of the lot is FitzPatricks in Kilkee. It's always full, great for a laugh and there's always a couple of people knocking out a few tunes and having a singalong. It's not at all twee and seldom has any tourists trying to have the 'craic'.

Although at risk of being slated for mentioning a Dublin pub, I enjoyed the Guinness and atmosphere at Slattery's. That and the fact that it opens at 7am and has a lock-in on Sundays . Most days there is a band with rock music upstairs and traditional music (much better) downstairs. On Sundays anyone with an instrument is invited to play.

In a small town called Bunclody, about 35 miles west of the coastal town called Courtown, is this pub.... I don't remember the name of the pub (Maybe Ryans too pissed), but I do remember the hospitality of this small pub and the name of the beer. We guzzled several "Wexford Irish Creme Ales" and were amused but the drunk Irish fellows playing guitar and his spoon playing companion as well as various other locals. It was a hole, but the nice drink and atmosphere just made me think that it was my "favourite".
This is a very tough question. In Ireland, the "great Irish Pubs" are countless. My suggestion to you is to meet up with some locals of the area that you are at. They will most likely take you to a local pub, which is much better than the expensive tourist traps. I had a great stay while in Ireland, and I am sure you will too.
The list is endless. But its a great tip to try and get a local who appreciates a good pint of guinness and they should sort you out with a good pint. Best tip I can think off is check out the cliental, if its a bunch of auld fellas drinking porter then you have hit the jackpot. If its a bunch of young lads and lassies drinking cocktails and fat frogs its time to hot foot it out of there.
Tohers and O'donoghues on baggot street are a must for anyone just spending a couple of days in dublin. If you are more adventurous seek out Gravediggers which is on the north side of the city in a suburb called glasnevin. This place never disappoints. If you have a spare afternoon in dublin, get the 19a or 13 bus out there. hidden down the end of prospect avenue in the middle of the largest graveyard in ireland is in my opinion the best pub in the country
