Hiya
you'll be able to get around grand- buses are cheap and not so bad- nothing is that far away remember! Trains are good where you can actually use them- the thing is that train routes are very limited in Ireland, and really only connect Dublin with places- but as for travelling between smaller places you might have to get the bus. Bus services are alright- just prepare to add on half an hour to journey times at the weekend- on Fridays and Sundays particularly as traffic to and from Dublin is normally mental those days. There are a few hops you can do by plane too if you feel like it! irishrail.ie is for trains. bus eireann is the main state bus company aerarann is a small Irish owned airline there are also private bus companies like citylink that do a few routes- and can be alot faster. I'd only rent a car if you don't plan on going anywhere too rural. I know my American relations are normally gripping their seats on some of our roads off the beaten track- they're just quite narrow and people go quite fast on them! Enjoy your trip. |
