Bring plenty of heavy clothes. And be ready to be out in the rain.

apart from the leprachauns, the stereotype is kinda right
Dublin's very active all year round. Definitely check the St Stephens Green shopping which is a paradise for shopaholics around that time of the year. Avoid christmas day itself though, as everything will be closed. |

the new shopping centre in dundrum is excellent, its 20 mins on the new tram system which runs from stephens green.
There are plenty of museums and galleries around stephens green and trinity but that might leave your kids questioning the will to live. Check out what is happening in the RDS the week you are here, sometimes there is this funfair called Funderland which I am sure will keep the attention of the 5 year old. Hmmmm might be a little cold for the viking splash tour though it will certainly entertain the kids. Your 18 year old should be ripe for a pint of guinness Oh one last thing down in smithfield they have ice skating leading up to christmas. Its a short trip from the luas on middle abbey street (north side of the liffey) |

Thanks PhilGill,
My 18-year-old will no doubt enjoy the long hall bar as well as the shopping. Skating should be fun for all, too. Looks like we'll be able to fill a few days easily - even in December. |
