dec 6th is a thursday - closing time at most bars is 11:30 on a thursday. There would still be plenty of late night options though in the city centre. Everything shuts down at 2.30 though so - you'll need to plan around that. Whether its worth it or not is up to yourself really. You could end up in one persons version of a complete dump and have a great time. Depends on what you are after! In temple bar you are sure to find something that caters for the tourist crowd - i.e. trad music and over priced guinness. Depending on your choice of music there are plenty of bars elsewhere in the city that would tick the box so to speak
