Anyone know anything about TravelPost.com? They've contacted me and want to reprint my material on their site. I went to check it out and you have to be a member to see anything and i can't be bothered (I have a beach waiting for my attention). It seems pretty new as it says "beta" up at the top. Anyone else hear from these guys or know anything?

Yep I did. They were like, we are willing to transfer all your stories that appeared on BNA to our site. Ahem.... I know i keep repeating myself. True the copyright of the original story is ours (that of the contributors). But things like heading, subheading etc, which BNA used is not our copyright. So bascially a story that is on this website cannot just be picked up and transferred to another website. TravelPost is not the only one that has approached me. Others have as well. Right now I dont have time to send the original articles - of the ones published on BNA. So I turned down the offer.

Right, there was another contender as few months back, wasn't there? Though that site just wanted one of my BnA articles, not the whole library, and they seemed to be a bit more established, though I didn't have the time to respond and let it go. These guys appear
to just be trying to bulk up their new web site with material. Well, nevertheless, I am on the road and can't send them all the articles, in their original form, anyway.

Hmmm. I haven't heard of them, but I have also had a web site ask about my BnA content. I checked out the site and it was really sketchy, and turned them down. I'm happy to give free content to BnA, but I'm not so sure about giving it away to other web sites. Is it pretty common for people to be approached about their BnA content? I'm wondering what other people's experiences are...

Hmmmm.. My experience tells me it is very very common. Perhaps it is because there are not that many "India" stories that these websites are able to get. But, BNA is such a nice community, that I dont feel like participating in any other. Perhaps it is better to get exposure on other websites as well, but what the heck, a google search shows all the articles on BNA. So in the long run I dont think an "over exposure" on various websites of the same article helps.
