Holds PhD in Packing

Hey all,

I'll be in a position soon where I'll be looking for some people to write articles for a new site of mine about working holidays. Bootsnall is my first port of call and I'm mainly looking for advice on how to go about finding potential contributors.

I would love some recommendations for sites where I might be able to post ads to find writers. I'll be posting to this forum when the site is ready but would like to have a list of other places to try as well.

I'll be looking for stories of about 800-1000 words that will be first-hand accounts of people's experiences working abroad. Each article will be focused on their experiences working in one job in one place. Eg. pear picking in Victoria, working at a hostel in Ireland, temping in London etc... The content must be unique and can't be submitted to other websites. I'm not looking for super polished writing from pros, just casual like you're chatting to a friend about your experiences.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should pay for this sort of thing? I'm totally inthe dark so all suggestions are welcome!

I'm hoping to launch the website in a few weeks and will be looking for stories after that point. If anyone is interested, email me or post here and I will keep you up to date.

I am an underwater archaeologist and have worked in many countries around the world. You can see some of the articles I have written based on my travel. Some relate directly to my work and might be what you are looking for while others are more travel related and deal with a specific aspect of the country or city in which I lived while in that country. Please follow the link below and take a look. Let me know if I can help you out.

thanks

@travoholic you may want to give the folks at http://www.writtenroad.com a shout to both promote your site and get advice about what a reasonable pay rate is.

Thanks Marcus, that site is exactly what I was looking for. Nice site you have, by the way.

LVX sounds like a cool job! I haven't had a chance to read your stuff yet but once I get more organised I'll give you a shout.

Anyone else interested?

travelwriters.com is a good place to advertise a position.
unless you want the cheap writers on freelancing sites.
