Hi all you travellers.
I can see lots of you are footloose and fancy free but y'know, even mothers love to travel and be free. I travelled lots when I was single, also when I was married and a mom Now I'm single again and a responsible parent but should I chain myself to the livingroom sofa? Heres my story: I just quit my job on Friday - I'm a single mom of a cool 10 year old boy. I wont be travelling the world just yet but while I'm waiting I'll be bringing the world to me by hosting international students (of language) at my home. Irresponsible? No, just sick of being owned by "the Company". Can't bear being in only part ownership of the only life I'll ever have. Tired of being told how many days a year I can be sick and for how long and when I can take time away from "the Company". Tired of checking out of my life for the best 8 hours of my day, 5 days a week. Of course I have expenses and I'll have to be creative to cover them and I will.

Mom's, how are you making it happen?

Hi, I'm a single mom too (2 kids,4 and 6 years old). Definitely am not planning to work for someone else and get my life dictated. But I'd like to start my new lfe travelling with my kids first. And I'd like to hear from other single moms who have done the same.
My e-mail is bluecoast2000@hotmail.com
For the rest, how am I going to make it happen? (meaning earning the money while being "free") I'm starting a small import business from Indonesia. So I can combine my love for travel with business. And be available for my kids when I want to and have to. I'll probabaly have a few tough years ahead of me, but I hope it'll be worth it!

Hello, I am in Eugene right now.. been in the states since 16th June, spent a week in Jamaica. I am travelling with my seven year old son, laughing at how neither of us 'fit' into the travelling categories... he is under 18 and I am over 30!!!
But we are having a whale of a time... just waiting for our bus to the burningman festival..have driven over 6,000 miles across the states... and seen some sights, have been amazed, spooked, worried, laughed and cried, found myself to be so so small in this large and wondrous world.. and still have fiji, oz, new zealand, thai, sing and india to do yet!!!!

Always follow your heart...

lisa and arun... roll eyes
