Do you have a deadline? Who is the publisher? Where can we go for more details?
Thanks.

I'm all for calls for submissions for ppl interested in other mediums and getting their work out there, but please give a website and publisher details. And I won't even start on how submissions requests from hotmail addresses make me queasy.

Um, silly question perhaps, but what does "one time rights needed" mean? Does the writer keep the rights and can the story be published elsewhere? Sounds sketchy.

Delara, one-time rights means that the publisher buys the rights to print your story one time only. You still hold all rights to the story, and can reprint it wherever and whenever you want.

I got an email from these guys. Am I the only one, or are they mass-mailing BootsNAll writers?

Okay, that's what I thought.

And yeah, I got a message from them too. It went straight to my junk mail folder per hotmail's selection process. Wonder if that says anything about the particular operation?

Hi everyone.

I've sent emails to people who I thought might be interested in being part of the project. Sorry if I missed people out who feel they should have been included - clearly it's open to all.

Have fun, keep writing.
Epi.

But give us more info! You don't seriously think many people are gonna send you their work if they haven't got a clue what it's going to be used for, do you?

I was just teasing when I made that last post....as if I give a shit.
It does sound slightly interesting, but I'm not losing any sleep over it until I hear something concrete about: publication, editing, who you are, where you are, etc.

I was all set to give "Epi" the benefit of the doubt...maybe they just forgot to include the details, maybe they're newbies and just didn't know what to include in an email to everyone. They did send me an email to my account as well, which was fine but included marginally more details...but come on. We don't care if it's open to all, we care about the credentials. I'm not going to send my writing off to a hotmail address with absolutely no details. That'd be a great way to write a book, eh? Just put out a call to submissions and then present all under your own name.

So Epi, I'm trying not to be critical, but if you're out there, please give us some more details.

Thanks.

I see that Epi did nip back on, but still it doesn't sound like anyone else has heard more in the way of details. Please be sure to post here, or email me (ant@bootsnall.com) if you do hear something.

It's always great to see some publishing opportunities, but if there aren't details forecoming when you ask, then you guys know it's better to stay away. BTW too, whenever you're checking out other web or print mediums to try to get published, check out the warnings at WritersWeekly.com:

http://www.writersweekly.com/warnings/warnings.html

Very helpful for avoiding publications/sites that screw over their writers.

I too got an email about this a while back, but was too busy to look into it. Anyone hear back on this? Is it worth my time to write something up or submit one of my stories?
