There are several articles I would like to share with you.

The first is by a writer named V.S. Naipaul and was originally published in the New York Review of BooksOn Being a Writer in the 1980's. The piece is called On Being a Writer and is superb. Naipaul has influenced my writing more than any other person, living or dead. I suggest seeking out the anthology of his work, The Writer and the World.The Writer and the World

The other two pieces were written by a friend of mine named E. Jean Caroll. They were both originally published in Esquire. This is an example of very good writingvery good example of very good writing. She has an excellent style that is hard to pull off for most people. Her writing is very reminiscent of Tom Wolfe, very conversational. The way she words images and relates dialogue is first-class.
