I know my book still has a long way to go before it is actually a book, but I have an agent that's really excited about my project and, for now, I'm flying high.

The contract is somewhere between NYC and Indiana as I type this.

Anyhow, I thought it might be useful to share how I landed my agent:

An agent contacted me after reading my blog and about my, then, upcoming adventure. He asked me if I though about writing a book about it. After the adventure was done I attended a writer's conference where I sought agents out for advice: "An agent has contacted me and I have a few questions about working with an agent."

They would say: "What's your project?"

I would tell them and to my delight they were all interested.

Ultimately, it is one of these agents who I'm about to sign with.

Anyone else have an agent story they would like to share?

Today’s writing Zen:

When you are looking for an agent, they are nowhere to be found. When you’re not, there they are.

Agents show more interest in your project when other agents have shown interest in your project.

Thanks everyone. Actually, I have more good news. I've excepted an offer from Wiley & Sons to publish "Where am I Wearing?" It will come out in Hard cover in November of this year. We're still working out some of the minor details in the contract, but it's pretty much a done deal.

The Bootsnall community has always been very supportive and I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

Happy writing!
