Thanks for this post. But some of the sites mentioned above dont pay. They merely offer "exposure". If you are looking for exposure, Bootsnall is a great bet!

There are two ways of looking at the non-paying market.
1) Write only for BNA
2) Send the same original story to other websites also

In my experience, since google throws up all the stories on Bootsnall and it (BNA) has a brand name - something that can open doors even in the paying market, there may be no need to spread out far and wide.

But, I guess it is upto each writer to decide what is best for them.

Thanks for these urls once again.

I got offered recently three writing "tryouts" but none pay. Still, the more you publish, the more you increase your chances of getting paid to write. WHat matters is that it's officially out there in some way.
I still have to focus on getting work that DOES pay though....and prioritize time

And the fact that you're listing this stuff as you find the leads/markets is great Alaskahawa! Thanks so much.

As I come across more in my own search; I'll be sure to just start adding them to this string. Smile

I’d like to echo Dusty’s sentiments… Some of my best paying work and exposure has been through people (editors) Googling and finding my babbling here on BnA. If you’re patient and don’t have an immediate monetary need (and you don’t suck too much), giving stuff to BnA or whoever will likely result in a Karma return of paying work sooner or later.

Gotta say though that your chances of getting exposure at a site that publishes just about everything are slim. BNA has great search engine listing but don't seem to be too selective on what they publish.

Going through the articles here, it's only one in ten that i find something really worth reading.
