Students and aspiring travel writers, take note - there's an excellent new travel writing contest that's been put together by National Geographic Traveler magazine and Travcoa:

Students are asked to submit a 300-word essay about a travel experience
that moved, excited or changed them. The winning essayist will embark on an
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity -- a Travcoa journey to Mongolia with
Editor-in-Chief Keith Bellows and an assignment for National Geographic
Traveler's Web site. Bellows will choose the winner, and then help the
student develop the story in the field.


The 300-word essays must be received by December 31, 2007 at 5pm PST - so you've got a little time to make them perfect! For more information, see this press release and the official contest website .
