Hello wordsmiths,
I read all the time about writers' residencies, either you pay for them or you're fortunate enough to be subsidized. They get me thinking. I also heard recently that a friend of a friend rented an apartment in Buenos Aires for a year for $2,000. Putting two and two together, I thought to myself, "why not make my OWN writer's residency?" Anyone done this or know someone who has? I'm thinking, rent a place for a few months to a year in an inexpensive and warm location where the cost of living is low. Also, hopefully a place where visa problems won't be an issue (or at least where it's easy to live beneath the radar, like Spain).
What an exciting thought, huh? Any thoughts?

I'm not sure how I've missed this thread for so long...

Sounds like a very interesting idea. Scheduling travellers could prove to be difficult, but I'd be interested in hearing more.
