Loose-fitting trousers and T-shirts facilitate passage through rugged jungle terrain

Why pay so much for clothes that are bound to get covered in dirt?

Last week I promised I'd give you a few tips on how to choose a trekking gear that's both practical and affordable. Since the column space is kind of limited, I'll just get straight to that. Well, let's start with the clothes.

To keep yourself comfortable during the long walk in the wilderness, you need proper clothing. And the first place to go hunt for that is nowhere else but your closet.

You may notice that the author did not mention overpriced, synthetic, wicking pieces of clothing.

i dont think i got the point of the article.

i do get joe's point, though, which is that a lot of time we think we need this superspecialized equipment which will work about the same as anyolething we get out of the closet.

was that the point?

as i pack for my peru/boivia trip, i plan to go to goodwill to pick up some wild and crazy stuff i would never ever wear here (80's sweaters, bright socks, ECKO or FUBU sweatshirt) I can't explain it, its a compulsion I have. beore I go to Costa Rica in Nov and Jan each year, I load up on such finds and dump them at the end of my stays down there; i've less to lug back, clean and have made a tiny contribution while down there too.
