Cracking Up That's brilliant.

Hey Donovan, any idea how high that is? (the cliff jumping one)

You want rafting? I'll give you rafting.

I was guiding the boat, and here you can see me getting tossed out the back. At least I grabbed onto the rope and my paddle.

Notice the young boy in the front of the boat, having a great time. His dad is the one in the middle, smacking his head on the cooler. His dad is the one who's leg is sticking out of the water just below me.

I know that rapid quite well. The Oaks Springs on the Deschutes River. You must live in Oregon.

That's the one. I've been over it numerous times, though never quite that badly before. Of the 5 boats in our group, I think 2 flipped and all five steersman were tossed out.

Okay, I don't mind posting another. Here I am looking rather angry on top of Mt. Thielsen. Really, I was just feeling scared. The last 40' or so is pretty much vertical, and I have little climbing experience.

I should have some more next week. I'll be climbing Diamond Peak this weekend.

Where do you live? Bend? Eugene or Portland?

Perhaps we should connect sometime and do some hiking.

Corvallis. I suppose I should really fix my profile so that it's more clear, instead of reading 'Cow Valley'.

I'd love to meet up for a hike some time. I'll probably be doing another couple of peaks this summer, and I'm thinking of backpacking into Middle Sister during Labor Day weekend.

Just me. Again. This time I'm up on Diamond Peak. I hiked up it last Saturday, during the hottest part of the day. It was a pretty tough climb, even though the mountain is only 8740'.

Here I go again.

On Sunday I climbed Mt. Washington, my 3rd mountain this summer. Yay.

My hiking partners, Jacob and Jeremy, soon after our only roped in climb for the day.

Me at the top, enjoying a beer.

Jacob, rappelling down.

And me, also rappelling. Fun!

Mt. Washington from the trail back down.

I thought I was a picture whore Wink

These are from Sierra la Vigilancia, Argentina -- a remote place where I went (or tried) to go climbing

I'm sitting close to the edge at the top of the sierra. There were a few anchors reachable from the top (if you don't get vertigo) to set up topropes. By the way, it was damn cold!!!

Getting to some or the walls was tricky, involved crawling and jumping

Those are some really cool photos, Dan. You look really thrilled to have completed Kili, despite having just blown chunks.

this is me climbing.
the perspecitve is an unusual one.
this is a watertower that was swept from its foundation and ended up on its side 100 feet away. was once on the water but hurricane katrina swept it away. so now its on its side and we climbed up its bent/rusting/dented sides to the "top". note the paint on my pants...this is after my 3rd trip to mississippi post-katrina
