Another Bootsnall crew is planning another great epic trip this next New Years eve, kind of like our summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro this New Years.

Any thoughts on exotic, far destinations?

Libya or Bhutan come to mind.

I'm guessing something in the southern hemisphere for weather related reasons (unless in the tropics).

Next year...for those of you who make it up Kilimanjaro and want to go bigger..how about...

Aconcagua!!!

bigger, tougher, and it'll kick the shit out of you. Well, I don't know that for sure, but from what I understand, it requires more technical mountaineering skills. Just a thought for the die hard out there. Or we can be like Joe E and take a bus up to the summit! Wink

Other ideas...

Trekking in Patagonia -- Torres del Paine, Fitzroy, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego

Belize -- Mayan ruins, jungle, mountain biking, kayaking, white water raft, caving, diving, windsurfing adventure

is there any way you could set something up in bhutan and have it not be fucking expensive? i thought it was a set rate of a couple hundred per day.. sucks. i'd definately be interested in a libya or congo area trip (provided it's at least moderately safe), but i'm not so sure about the timing..

Bhutan is difficult - it's about $200 per day per person. You can't get it for much cheaper. Libya will probably work out.

Libya's supposed to be very cool. A friend just came back and she told me it was weird... where she went, they didn't have any touristy little knick knacks at all.

I love the idea of Lybia. If I get this job in France, I'd definitely be interested. If I end up in China, I love the idea of Mongolia! So wait until I have my plans straight. OK? Smile
