Marisa,
I climb at whipps ledges in hinckley. You can find some information here. It's pretty good and quite a bit of fun. Its best for top roping, and bouldering.

Drive to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky!!!

Although it depends entirely on where you are in Ohio, it shouldn't be more than a few hours to drive down there (It was 10 hours from Toronto and we'd often go down for 3 day weekends).

Some of the best sport climbing in N. America and stay at Miguel's Pizza place (search rockclimbing.com for details) for cheap climbers-only camping and some of the best pizza you'll ever eat.

Oh how ironic! Forgot I posted this...well, I've actually changed it to hitting up Red River Gorge, and debating about Horseshoe Canyon in Arkansas (people tell me it's too hot, buggy, and gross in Sept).

I'm going to end up doing a road trip with my boyfriend up to Ohio (wedding up there...blah), but on the way up, we'll hit Red River Gorge and do some camping. The debate is..on the way back..to hit RRG again? I just got a guidebook, and seems that there's tons of options there, so it might be a good idea...

Do tell me more about Red River Gorge! How's the weather in mid Sept? Places to check out, other outdoor activities besides climbing, things I'd need to bring, etc...do tell...

Thanks!
