That's an incredible story. I really like the "high road" approach they've taken to their understandable detention, which as they say, could have happened in any country, anywhere. That they are not disrespecting the Russians in all this is admirable, and a glimpse into the type of people these guys are that could pull off a trek like this.

The suspense has been cool, to keep wondering what will come of all this. Glad to hear that the criminal charges have been dropped. Glad to hear they're taking a realistic approach to the "un-authorized entry point" administrative charges. Even if they get expelled from the country, sounds like they would have no hard feelings, would understand why, and would just find another way around.

Holy shit! 12 years of walking! Damn!

How the hell are they ever going to live in their home country again? I was culture shocked after returning home from just two years of traveling. I was with other travellers and in tourist spots lots of times too.
These guys are just throwing themselves into the elements and after 12 years of that they're gonna be culture smashed when they're done. I hope they have a strong support plan upon return.

Definitely hard core..
