I am getting ready for trekking in Pakistan and am down to the map question. The *whispering* LP seems to have a real preference for the (Swiss) Alpine Research Foundation set of orthographic maps over that of the US 502 series (which are significantly easier to come by for me). I understand that the Swiss maps do not have topography--is this true? Does anyone have any comments on the reliability of the American maps outside of what can be expected for their age? I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!
