This is kind of a cool story - combining a wine tours with bicycling. As long as the distances were not far, and there was no major traffic, then it could be quite fun.

In the town I went to school in, BUI was an actual crime. And they had actual bike cops to enforce it and give field sobriety tests. And if you got a ticket, it went on your record like a DUI. They also gave tickets if you didn't come to a complete stop and put your foot down at a stop sign when biking (recorded as a moving violation on your record). They made a lot of money from students...

While in Amsterdam in 2002, I rented a bicycle and went on the "outside" of Amsterdam marked route. It was a trail that followed some dikes. It went through these nice small towns with at least one pub per town. They where spaced just right. DDDeeeeeeerrrruunnkkk. *never crashed*

It was so much fun. If you ever get the chance, get out of the city.
