ok, so I've been living in Turin, Italy for over 6 months now & the weather is rapidly getting colder, so have realised the beginning of the ski season is only a few weeks off.
I hiked in the alps during the summer, so know theyre only just over an hours drive away & it would be madness to live here & not take advantage of the skiing & snowboarding on my doorstep. Its many years I skiied & I really fancy having a go at snowboarding, Ive also been told it doesnt take long to pick it up with the help of a few lessons. so, any recommendations on good places to go in the italian alps or advice on snowboarding, all gratefully received... |

I have heard that Gran Paradiso National Park is quite spectacular, although I am not sure if you can snowboard there.

Gran Paradiso IS spectacular.... I spent a lot of time hiking there in the summer. The villages are very quiet at that time of year & I'm trying to find out which ones turn into full on ski/boarding resorts for young people & which are just for old timers...?
Thanks for the link.... |
