Anybody been to the North Pole or dog sledding in northern Sweden/Norway (Tromso to Kiruna)? My neighbor just got invited to accompany a friend on the above adventure this April. She is looking for any stories or hints. Thanks.

Perfect, Xoom. Thanks - exactly what I was looking for. Did you read the site? I read all the Arctic expeditions and am in awe.

I've been to Tromsø and Svalbard, so I can try and answer any questions you might have. It was during summer, though, so no dog sledding (went horseback riding instead). It is incredible up there, and great opportunity to see the Northern Lights (particularly in Svalbard, as there's very little light pollution).
