Hi! I'm planning a trip that will take me through Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia and Ecuador in June and July of this year, and I'm looking for people to come with me. The plan at present is to start in Kitani in Peru and get a lift in a local boat through the POngo de Mainique rapids and on to Pucallpa where I want to either buy a raft or enlist local help to build one, and float on it 500 miles down the river Ucayali to iquitos. This would take about a month. From Iquitos I will buy a passage on a river boat down the Amazon to Manaus in Brazil and from there travel by road north to Venezuela and back round to Peru through Columbia and Ecuador. i am looking for two or three people to come with me who enjoy a serious challenge and want an adventure. You would have to know that you can be tolerant of people in a very small space and that you can cope with hoards of biting insects, having a limited diet and no privacy and being wet and mouldy (v smelly). I speak some Spanish andhave experience of living in the rainforest, but speak no Portuguese so someone who did would be very useful indeed! Let me know if you're interested,

Ahhh damn. I am giving serious consideration to doing extensive travel in South America, however I need to work this summer in order to get money for that. I'm actually planning on getting out there in late August, so if you're still hanging around down there I'd love to join ya.
