I just took a (short) trip to Seattle and the top of Mt Rainier. Blog entry and pictures are at http://robert.barta.home.comcast.net/MtRainier.html

Earlier this year was Kilimanjaro Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar . Other trips on my Main page are a Caribbean Cruise (my 3rd), Thailand and Maui.

Gearing up for Mt. Kosciuszko, Australia and New Zealand in November followed by Mt. Elbrus, Russia and Poland next summer.

Enjoy

Very cool. Thumbs Up I've always wanted to go climbing in the Caucasus, so I'll be interested to hear about your experience on Mt. Elbrus.

Congrats! Sounds like you're slowly X-ing off the seven summits.

When's Everest?

Yes, I will be attempting 7 summits but won't know for sure if it is a real possibility until after Aconcagua in January 2009. After that the schedule would be Denali summer 2009, Vinson Massif Jan 2010 and Everest in Spring 2011.

I also want to climb Chomborazo (furthest point from the center of the earth) and Mauna Kea (tallest mountain from base to tip). Big Grin May also add Carstencz Pyramid after all the rest for those who consider Oceana the 7th continent, not Australia.

I'll be trying to add some other fun stuff in between. Wink

No, my blog is not down. Comcast is up almost all the time. Some browsers it seems prefer http://home.comcast.net/~robert.barta/MtRainier.html or http://home.comcast.net/~robert.barta/Main.html

Sorry so long to respond, I only check out my threads every couple of weeks.
