I am in the process of planning a trip to Dubai and want to include diving. I have heard that Fujairah is the place to go. Has anyone been? Recommendations??

I went diving while I was in Dubai. You're right that the east coast is the place to go.

I stayed at Scuba 2000 in Badiyah (between Fujairah and Dibba) and enjoyed the informal atmosphere. There's not much to do in Badiyah, so if you want nightlife you're probably better off in Fujairah or Khor Fakkan.

Visibility wasn't very good (mid October), but the water was warm and there was plenty of fish and corals (and a few turtles!). I only did two dives, but would have liked to stay for more.

There's diving in Musandam, too, but I've heard it's mainly for experienced divers.

Thanks for the info. We are hoping to get in about 3 days of diving. We do want a place with some night life so we will probably try Fujairah.
