I will be combining the Middle East and Southeast Asia to compose a large chunk of my upcoming RTW trip. As most all know, the cheapest way to travel between these two regions is connecting through a gulf state, and flying the national carrier of that state. My research shows that one of the cheapest ways to travel from Amman to Bangkok is with Qatar Airways. What I can't seem to find is if they permit travelers with an israel stamp to fly with them. Has anyone with an Israeli stamp in their passport flown quatar airways through doha, and if so was it an issue? I have heard qatar is relatively lenient and that it is not an issue but some real experience would be nice to confirm my thoughts.
I have also researched Etihad Airways. I would be connecting through Abu Dahbi, and, despite the fact that people on these boards have mentioned no problems with an israeli stamp in the UAE, the representative from etihad that i spoke with informed me travel with an israeli stamp is not welcome on their airline. Has anyone had any experience with Etihad and the stamp stigma? Thank you to all for any advice or suggestions. Travel well! |

Both Qatar and UAE have official policies against anyone with Israeli stamps entering. That said, I have read that both are not strict enforcers. Still, I wouldn't hinge your trip on being able to transit either country if you've been to Israel.
Have you already been to Israel? Your itinerary posted in the other thread didn't list it as a destination, so if you haven't been before, your best bet would likely be to simply avoid getting the stamp in the first place. There's a ferry between Egypt and Jordan which would allow you to avoid crossing Israel to get between the two. |

I thought UAE did NOT have an official Israeli stamp policy. I sure hope so. It's a stop on my RTW (leaving tomorrow!) and I have an Israeli stamp already.
