Okay so I looked online at a few places and the cheapest way that I can see to get from India(Mumbai) to Cairo is about 400 Canadian via Abu Dahbi by plane. I plan on leaving around mid march and I am really flexible here with regards to locations. I can fly anywhere out of the west side of India and I can arrive anywhere in Egypt, Jordan, or Turkey if it costs less. Any suggestions? I can fly from bangkok to India for about 150 CDN so why is it so much more expensive flying out of India westward? Isn't there tons of traffic going that way?

I got a ticket from Amman, Jordan last year to Mumbai for $260 US on Gulf Air. I think that is a pretty good deal. You look on a map it is a pretty far distance, much further than lets say Calcutta to Bangkok. And I think there are a lot fewer flights from the Mideast to India. Remember, Bangkok is one of the top three or four world traveling hubs, so it is always cheaper to fly in and out of there. One other thing- most Mideast airlines are of great quality (Air Emirates is outstanding) so you at least get good service.

They fly Mumbai - Sharja - Alexandria (or assiut). I dont know when you plan your trip, but it seems to cost around 185 US in total.
