Holds PhD in Packing |
Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of how much you'd spend per day in Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iran & Egypt. Incl all except city-city & country-country travel expenses; so basically food, accommodation, inner city/town travel, and sights. I know certain places will be more expensive, this is the case with all countries, im just looking for a ball park figure if possible! Cheers EDIT: Im talking budget acommodation, food & sights (but I wouldn't want to miss anything major just because my budget didn't compute, unless its very large), I'm a student after all. Planning trip to South East Asia + India for 6 months. October to end of march, any advise appreciated!! |

Well, I can't give you a complete estimate, since I haven't been to the "axis of evil" countries, but here's what I've found:
Jordan: cheap hotel - $15 Food - $10-$15 Petra - $30 Turkey: Hostel - $8-$15 Food - $10-$15 Major attractions in Istanbul - $10-$15 each Egypt: Hotel/ Hostel - $4-$15 (depending on city - Luxor is cheap!) Attractions - $5-$20 EACH!!! Food - $5-$10 Bribes, unnecessary and unethical "fees" for being a foreigner - $5-$25/ day. * side note - Egypt is my LEAST favorite country in the world. I was disgusted by how I was treated there. Hope you have a better time than I did. Hope that helps a little. |

Could someone give me a few ideas for a hotel in Alexandria, Egypt. I heard the Windsor is comfortable, clean, historic, near attractions & the water...what do you think? There are 2 of us taking a side trip from a USA tour in Oct.
Also, any thoughts on the Oran Hotel for Istanbul? We are scheduled to be there 2-3 days with a tour. Ideas on what to see with half/full day tours, or would taking the Dolmus get us lost to some attractions? We don't want to fight our way on the regular buses. Thanks, Marlena I understand that signing up means there is no fee? right?I am flying into Buenas Aires on Jan 21, for 7 1/2 wks to see Argentina & Chili, so I need some good info on decent places to stay in the area & coast along the way to Bariloch (have a cabana lined up in Puerto Montt for a few wks), then places to stay going up the Chili coast, including Santiago, the higher coastline then some of Bolivia, circling down to Buenas Aires lvg March 14th. |
