hi there,

we're a small group of people from the UK who are travelling to israel and the palestinian territories overland this summer. we go with the intention to learn about non-violence, ourselves, the world and what individuals can do to effect social change.

we will be working with various organisations along the way and in the region as well as spending time with marginalised communities (such as the negev bedouin and the ethiopian communities) and people from all sides of the conflict as well as taking in the sights and cultures.

check out www.small-steps.net or our myspace page www.myspace.com/smallstepsforward

we're looking for any people who would like to join us on the journey so if it sounds like something you'd be interested in, please get in touch. Also, if you have any ideas or advice you'd like to share, it would be appreciated.

many thanks,

small steps x

smallsteps, you didn't mention if you are of a Christian faith, but there are several denominations that work on these issues. These denominations are especially interested in the peace witness: Quakers, Church of the Brethren, Mennonites, and Amish. These churches may have missions over there where you can go volunteer, or bounce ideas. Even if you're not Christian, it would be good to hook up some--none of these churches are at all pushy about evangelizing.

Smallsteps, I was in a hurry when I wrote my last post, so sorry to bumble as I did. I looked at your site, and have a better idea what you're about. Here is a link that may help:

Also I know a lady who did this years ago, and will send your request on to her. She may be able to offer some inside advice on various aspects of your trip.

Also, I wanted to say--bless you for what you are doing. The world is a crazy place, and I'm thankful for all who want to make it a better place.
