Hi

Has anyone been to Dubai lately to see the Palm project take shape? If you have no clue what I'm talking about check out http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/palm_islands.php

I saw a program on National Geographic the other day and as an engineer I'm impressed by the work that it being done. The outer molo is made out of rock and they transport about 40.000 tons of rock per day to build it. And the island that form the palm is made of sand...but the ironic thing is that desert sand is not suitable for this task...so it is taken from the sea bed offshore. Well, I guess only the future will tell if this project is a streak of madness...or of genius. Dubai is a country that I have been to that I would like to go back to as it seems like so much has happened since I was there the last time.
