congratulations !!!
IMO, travel during pregnancy, particularly for a healthy, no complication pregnancy is OK during the second trimester. Egypt has a fairly good medical care for pregnant women in the urban areas. However, only your doctor can advise you on this issue. From experience (not first hand though) the first trimester is the hardest on the woman's body, the energy levels are very low, The first part of the second trimester are usually the happiest for the couple, energy levels are fairly high. Usually a relatively safe part of the pregnancy and women enjoy variety of things including travel during this time. Finally the later half of third trimester is the most frustrating and fidgety part. That said, impact of the stress on the woman's body vis-à-vis the baby is fairly minimal, the baby usually thrives at the expense of the mother. In most cases, she safe from the usual infections; except food poisoning, specifically from bad sea food. Also, Hepatitis E is a nightmare to manage at this stage, the main risk for the mother and the baby in the region you will be traveling. But sticking to the usual precautions and staying away from street food is usually advised and adequate. So March travel may put you at the end of the first and beginning of the second trimester. Some women luck out and do not have as much nausea as others, so check with your fiancé, involve the family if need be and make a decision that you both comfortable with. good luck and congratulations again. |
