Anyone have a guide book handy and want to quote me the bus from Cairo to Eilat and Eilat to Jerusalem please? Left mine in Jerusalem!

Thanks.

East Delta Bus Company runs regular buses from Cairo to Taba and Nuweiba. The bus leaves Cairo at around 06:15, 09:15 and 21:15 from Torgamon Bus Station in Cairo then goes to Abbaseya Bus Station and then to Al Mazhar Bus Station before heading out of Cairo to Taba and Nuweiba. The cost is LE 70-75 depending on which time, and it takes about 5 1/2 - 6 hours for the journey across the Sinai. I understand that you canNOT pre-book (just show up, I guess), though if you want to phone ahead, their number (not sure if this is in Cairo or Nuweiba) is 0020 69 353-0250.

When you get across to Eilat, go to the Central Bus Station. Egged runs a bus every day Sun-Thu at 07:00, 10:00, 14:15 and 17:00 to Jerusalem, the #444. Cost is 65 shekels one way. It takes 4 hours, but there's a reststop after a couple of hours at a place with clean bathrooms, coffee, burgers, etc. Oh, on Fridays, the bus goes at 07:00, 10:00 & 13:00, and on Saturday (Shabbat) at 16:30 and 19:30.

Hope that helps.

Hello Suzanne,

Do you know what the East Delta Bus time table is from Taba to Cairo on Fridays? My mother and I are traveling on Friday 17th October. Do you know if we should buy the tickets in advance?, if so, how many days in advance? (We will stay in Eilat before going to Cairo.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Tamara.

Shalom Tamara - no, I don't know the specific time table for Fridays, but I would recommend making contact with them and reserving your seats ahead of time. The only contact information I have, though, is the Cairo phone number I gave in my previous posting.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
