Tell us what you think of BootsnAll.com. The good, the bad and the ugly - whatever is on your mind. Let us know what new features and information you'd like to see. Suggest ways we can make the BootsnAll community even stronger. Be honest.

Should BnA have a permanent "Expat" forum?

Yes, what an awesome idea! Change the name of the Beyond Backpacking Forum!

Not really. Expats are weird. This site is about travel.

As an expat wannabe, I vote yes! make a separate forum! Then I can bother everyone in one place.

Absolutely, Ginger. Frankly, there are probably as many UK expats on the boards as there are Americans. Not to mention Swiss living in Australia, Taiwanese living in Europe, etc. It's an eclectic group with lots of different experiences to share.

I vote for an expat forum and doing away with the Beyond Backpacking forum.

I'm not even thinking about becoming an expat at this point so I won't be able to be a contributer but I always have opinions as long as we're voting. Smile

no word from JessieS yet. Maybe we can pool in on a bribe. I've probably got a couple thousand old Italian lira about. Anyone else?

I'm in for 50 rubles. That's two beers at the Metro station. Best I can do on a crashing expat salary.

But Metro parties do rock. Rock Out

Hmm, I feel like we've been patted on the head.

So does this mean you'll consider a forum change? It won't happen in a million years? you'll get right on it? you'll have a response after consulting with Sean?

I took it as a "50 rubles and a couple thousand lira? Mama mia! Show me some love!!!" kind of thing.

And we have been talking about it backstage, while sipping imported Champagne and snorting cocaine off of skobb's naked torso.

The changes are minor and will be well-received, I assure you.

Good call. (I did that just for you Joe)
Little tip for you if you're still snorting coke off of skobb's chest: have him wax first. A chest hair up the nose can really ruin your buzz.

Save the belly button for me, please. Unless he is an outtie.

Well, I see the Beyond Backpacking forum is finally gone, so Anniebanannie got her way. That's all that really matters anyway. Smile

There also seems to be an addition to the Volunteering/TEFL/Working Abroad forum welcoming users to "Discuss visas, logistics of moving overseas and how to work 'under the table.'" But perhaps that was always there and I'm only just noticing?

I appreciate the baby steps and the thoughts behind them, but the more I think about it the more I believe the Volunteering forum isn't a place for Expat issues. Heck, the Corporate Wasteland and Funding Your Travel Habit have more in common.

I'm still holding out hope for a dedicated Expat forum. If only to have a place where we expats may contain our particular form of batshit crazy.
