I have a 13-hour layover in Nadi. What to do? Is the orchid farm worth
checking out? This is a really dumb questions but do I need a visa for a
layover this long?

I stopped in Fiji a couple of times on my way to Oz. I didn't need a VISA (as an American) but I imagine some nationalities might.
I didn't find Nadi to be very exciting. Maybe head to a beach? There are some fairly close to the airport. Or find a bar and sample some Bounty Rum.
