First Time Traveling

Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

  • Bring half the clothes and twice the money.
  • Leave you mobile phone, laptop and video camera at home.
  • Plan only where you'll stay the first night, let serendipity be your guide after that.
  • Travel less, see more.
  • Bring earplugs.
  • Book early for Suk11.

Exactly how early do you have to book in advance for Suk11? The way people talk about that place around here I keep thinking you have to book like a yr in advance LOL

Read the book First Time Asia in the "Rough Guide" collection. You won't regret it. It's like gaining experience without traveling. It almost reads like a novel but it is loaded with infos. It's better than Lonely Planet's Read This First: Asia.

    Good Luck! Smile
