ariel50 are you jewish? you are making it sound like you are not jewish...what organizations did you look into...i can find you plenty of organizations that will send you to israel for very little on a several week religious trip...there are not many organizations that will help you make alliyah and pay for your flight...however, if you are serious, i believe i can find you an organization that will help subsidize your cost of making alliyah...there are many out there...

making alliyah is much harder than it used to be because people used to make alliyah, get the israel passport and go back to USA, australia, south africa, UK etc and never return to israel (maybe to visit on holiday). People get out of doing the mandatory army term, they don't pay local taxes and get the benefits of being a citizen. Alliyah was created and designed to give the jewish people a place to live where no others will...the key is jewish...if you are not jewish (even though you appear to be), then i wouldn't expect it to be easy...if you are jewish, the hoops are designed to prevent a further drain on their system...the country is basically socialist and there are tremendous costs on society and the social system when people come for 6 months get all the money and benefits (like health insurance), stay the amount of time needed and leave...you have basically screwed the country...i am not saying that is what you are trying to do...you appear to be wanting to move their permanently (which is really what alliyah means)...if you are looking to go to israel to check it out, party and live it up for a year and come back to your home country with an israeli passport, then don't do it...

hi eppyboy yes i am jewish. its just when people say lie about age i cant lie about age they'll find out how its easy they can check by social security number and the date of birth will show up on that person... and by passport i was told they check it. oh well...... its not a partying thing this is a serious flight to israel that i am searching for but you did state that you can find an organization that can help with going to israel if that is what you can do i really appreciate that, it has been very hard for me lately for so many years and it has literally taken a toll on me, whoever you find let me know and let them know you spoke to me about this i have never been as serious about anything as this one, i am just too serious about it i will wait till i hear back from you about this again i am happy to say that i beleive you can find that organization who will help so i will sit back and wait till you send me a message, by the way big thank you.. the programs like mayanot and birthright wont allow anyone over age 26 some of these people in the post in here say to try lie about age to get on a trip i laugh and say yeah right they are so dead wrong they couldnt possibly have done that. they know they will be caught at the airport they serve only college students and high schools, only for what i heard. same with oranim and others i thought wow these people try to sneak on thier program and think they'll get through it how can they think negative and think oh i will make it when they know they are gonna be caught one way or the other when they check the passpports they need a copy of passports and birth certificarte to proof of age at birth and they will not issue any programs without a copy of passport and birth certificare one person who wrote a email one time got caught he was banned from israel deported because it was reported by the program who caught him and found out he got on the plane and lied about his age and birth date was a no no..... he can never go to israel again. he was charged in court for what i am hearing before and he was ordered to pay the sum of over $3,000 i thought oh my goodness.... i wont let that happen to me thats why i avoid doing that, but if you know how to find the organization to help me i am grateful for that, thats more honest way to go is not the way he did. so just to let you know what i heard happen thank you and i will watch for your message take care for now, toda raba and shalom

ariel, are you looking for a similar birthright trip to israel that is free? Are you looking for a trip to israel where learning is involved (religious and about Israel) that you may have to pay a few hundred dollars for? Are you looking to make alliyah?

If you can answer these questions, I will try and help you.

Nobody is telling you to lie about your age...Its impossible to do it because of your passport, social security number etc...they will obviously find out...what people lied about was that they were in fact jewish because most times it is impossible to check, short of doing an extensive family history background to find out that a woman on your mother's side was not jewish...the thing about bringing proof from a rabbi is really ONLY when someone converts...on my birthright trip a girl from the midwest converted...her last name was smith, she had red hair and was not jewish looking at all...at the airport they asked her for her conversion papers and it was ALL GOOD...

So here is what I need from you. Please answer the above questions:

1. Are you just looking for a free trip like birthright to israel?
2. Would you go to israel if the trip was for a few weeks - few months and you had to pay (few weeks a few hundred, few months maybe more) and it involved religious learning and some sightseeing?
3. Are you going to Israel with the intention of staying there and making alliyah (permanently)?

4. Would you go to work on a kibbutz for 6 months? That is also a great way to go and I don't think it costs much because you work off the costs they incur by bringing you there...

shalom eppyboy really i am jewish yes. but age is a factor because i am way to old older than 18 to 26 i am older than that far older i cant take birthright or any programs or kibbutz cause they only service people who are in ages 18 up to 26 thats it.i would very much love to go to israel and do my research on neighborhoods and get all the papers for rental and job networking signed and turned in for aliyah and then when i return home i can start packing up when my aliyah is approved after taking the trip proving i did take that trip and did do the researches and did gather all information and met with the people there in jerusalem or where ever i go to pick a place where i want to settle down, that would show proof to them i did do all these things to make aliyah and yes it is my intention to move to israel permanently for good,i sat up till late last night looking for organizations to help me go to israel found nothing all of them want to help only younger people who are full of energy and full of ambition not people like me i feel like its an insult because of that action i see. but they dont want older people they feel it is not right to accept older folk because they have not enough energy to do anything, thats an awful way to say that, i thought i will fight it out cause thats rude. shows no common sense at all. i have more energy then they think. i have explained what it is i have to do, they said nah we need college and high schools only who are into this for israel, one person said to me in email sir why you just go to a old peoples program and sit with them and chat and play games and stuff and retire from trying to go to israel time to stop and give it up, you need to just forget it hey said israel doesnt need people like that with your aliyah aliyah is for young people only no old people we dont want them. they also said that older people are a problem for israel and they said they are trying to get israel to cut them off. she also said that disabled people deaf or hard of hearing which is me. hearing impaired and she said that they are not acceptable candidates for israel i told her that is the worse case insult i have ever heard i worked with disabled kids and youth and i cared alot and loved my job and helped alot of them and was a advocate as you can see thats the problem i have with people now, i do want to go to israel as part of my religion and my learning and this will help me make aliyah and can help me prove that i did go to israel as the interior ministry will check the file to see what i have done and etc so thats why well let me know what you can find out or see what program that i dont have to be a student of in college that may be a major problem with this but do let me know many many thanks i hope we can find something and soon remember i can do anything age is a number nothing more

there are plenty of programs that send people to israel over the age of 26...they are just not free...they usually cost money and involving religious learning and not galavanting...

I understand the issues here...it seems that you need proof you have visited israel previously before you can be accepted for alliyah...let me ask a friend tomorrow about making alliyah and see if he knows of organizations that can help you make alliyah...i know for sure there are plenty out there...

shalom again yes thats exactly right, and i dont have $3,000 to pay for trip to israel most programs charge at least $3,000 for all this but yes i do need to show proof i have been to israel previously thats why the ministry of interior will not approve any one on aliyah until they do go to israel, and show some proof they were there. and also they need to see that potential olim have searched neighborhoods where they visit to see where they choose to want to live in that area and the rental per month or to purchase home. they said i have to do that like all others have to do same thing, and job networking with employers same way i have to meet employers and landlords for apartments or house and all that work has to be done while in israel and Ulpan too is needed.so that way i can be approved by ministry when see the papers signed and turned in to the agencies. without doing that they will not get a grant to live in israel or rent a home if they do not do this. in order for me to get a grant i have to have done all this paperwork in israel rental and job networking and all this is alot of work. THEN when all this is done i come back home and wait for the approval letter. for aliyah..when final day of aliyah comes then i am all packed up furniture moved and shipped and upon arrival in jfk el al NBN flight thast where i get papers and documents and then arrival in israel will get the absorption basket that contains all forms and banking and health and grant which is the money to rent a home or purchase that has to be aapproved only for those who showed proof they did and have been to israel those who have or did not go to israel dont get this grant nothing... they get nothing they could end up homeless without grant or anything thats why anyone who makes aliyah has to show proof they have been to israel and have done the search on rental and all that then yes we get that grant to live there... see what i mean. i dont want to end up without a grant when i move there oh no... once people have found apt or house they sign papers thats thier new home when they arrive on aliyah day upon arrival we go straight to our new homes as we already have place to go to... that we call home no problem some people who did make aliyah did already end up on street because they have not yet gone to israel before aliyah to show proof that they have been to israel.and they didnt have proof that searched neighborhoods for a apt or house and sign papers with landlords to have a new home when they arrive on aliyah many olim immigrants have ended up homeless thats a shame i dont want to end up that way no thanks for that. i need to do this so i can make it. just thought you might want to know that your friend may know about this procedures and how this works keep in touch shalom

ok well im going to find out if there are organizations that help people make alliyah to israel...i didnt know you had to have previously gone to israel to be eligible for alliyah...im not sure that is even true...thanks for all the info...

give me a few days...i will try and post some organizations for you to at least look up and contact regarding your situation...

also, unfortunately trips are expensive...it appears you need a free flight and a way to get to israel to spend some time to take care of all these issues for alliyah...i know the internship and ulpan programs where you volunteer and work are very expensive...my friend paid over 10,000 USD for one for a year in israel to work and live...

I will get back to you...hang in there...i can promise you that whatever I find will NOT be free...there are no free lunches...even with birthright.

sure no problem,,, just a note yes thats true they do need us to meet those requirements to make aliyah 1) must have proof that i visited israel and have done my research for apartments, house, rentals and job networking, ulpan classes and other banks and health and interviews, the reason for that is to be eligible for aliyah and to receive a grant and absorptiob basket given by the israeli goverment that has a check for each immigrant who make aliyah.2) they must have a new home found during a visit and signed with lanlord that is proof when they make aliyah they have a new home to go to. if like i dont have proof i been to israel i get nothing no grant if no contract signed with job or apt as new home immigrants end up sleeping on streets, they will not allow that. they will not approve anyone on aliyah until they have the neccessary proof these people in ministry of interior are ultra orthodox thats why they attack at this issues they block anyone daily they have denied orthodox jews already from aliyah because they have not yet been to israel for a new home and so on they denied alot of jews since the last few months because of that. well let you go i will chat with you in the next few days about monday friday is shabbat so not a good time to work on it talk to you then and thank you for what you are doing for me sincerely appreciate it alot

my friend says check out this organization...

http://www.nbn.org.il/index.php
Nefesh B'Nefesh

This organization helps people make aliyah...he does not think they are organizations that will send you to israel for free but this organization may help you with the process.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

oh yes NBN let me say this unfortunately they are not a good source to contact because they dont send people to israel they do only charters and they work closely with ministry of interior in israel so thats what i was told long time ago, dont try contacting them cause they will make to many referrals and confuse things people have made alot of complaints against NBN i dont know whats going on but alot of people are not happy with them. they did something that people dont like just so you know. but your friend tried if he finds out anything do let me know asap shana tova. and take care

don't take my advice the wrong way, but maybe you need to save the money required to fly to israel and spend some time there...maybe you can find a cheap flight (there are usually flights under$1000 USD)...maybe stay in a hostel and take care of what you need to do while you are there...

I'm sorry I am not sure what else I can tell you...it is a shame that people abused the system and now it is preventing people like yourself from actually moving to israel...
